It’s coming up to one year in power for South Gloucestershire Labour!

We took office following last year’s local elections and since then we have:

– Put £1m more into Children’s Services next year

– Reversed the previous Conservative administration’s decision to cut free school meal vouchers from £15 each to £10 each. In all, we’re providing 6,500 children with free school meal vouchers this year.

– Increased debt and benefits advice to 2,000 people.

– Expanded youth services

– Produced a three-year balanced budget

– Worked on putting together a Local Plan for affordable housing and renewable energy, after the previous Joint Spatial Plan (JSP) failed

– Pushed forward the building of Lyde Green primary and secondary schools

– Continued the retendering of our waste services, including bringing some of it in-house and rolling out kerbside soft plastic recycling collections further

– Started our Community Conservations, where elected members have gone out to meet residents in person in their own communities, to listen to their views

– Supported food banks and Community Welcome Spaces

This is the Labour Group’s Anniversary Montage, where our councillors have sent in videos from across South Gloucestershire to show all of the local ward work they’ve been doing as well.

Thank you for watching!
