South Gloucestershire Labour is also sending its warm congratulations to Julie Snelling, who became a Labour councillor in Kingswood following a by-election that took place on the same day as the general election.

The by-election was triggered after former South Gloucestershire Council Cabinet member and Kingswood councillor Leigh Ingham resigned to fight the general election in Stafford, winning the seat for Labour after 14 years of the Conservatives with a majority of over 4,000.
